Westerly Baby Hat

View on Ravelry

My friend is expecting a baby so I offered to make a hat. I unraveled the yarn from a scarf that was the perfect color, a tonal navy. I’ve learned my lesson about reusing frogged blocked yarn, so I made it into a hank and soaked it and hung it to dry before starting the project.

This was my first time making a hat, and my first time doing cables. They’re easier than I thought: you just knit stitches out of order. My only problem was loose purls after cables, which I manually evened out afterwards. The project went pretty quickly since it’s so small. I finished it off with a pompom.
