Diagonal Rib Sock

I made these socks as a gift for a friend, to go with the Glynis Sock which is for his fiancée. I used the same type of yarn as for my Seeded Rib Sock. In both cases I liked the colorway a lot more once it was knit up compared to when it was in a skein. I’m not really sure why.

I wanted to do ribbing with something extra to make it more interesting, and found this great free pattern online. I did the construction my usual way and just followed the pattern for the ribbing on the leg and instep. It’s like this:

The symbol means to k2tog and then knit the first stitch again before slipping off the needle. It’s basically a combined decrease and increase.
